Genomics England has hired Boston biotech Berg to help it accomplish its mission to sequence 100,000 genomes. Berg uses artificial intelligence "to look at patterns in the data to find areas in the biology that are fingerprints" of disease, said its co-founder and president, Niven Narain. The company's supercomputer, known as Betsy, studies the inside of cells, including their proteins and lipids. Berg has already partnered with Big Pharmas Roche ($RHHBY), Biogen ($BIIB), AstraZeneca ($AZN) and GlaxoSmithKline ($GSK). Genomics England is part of the U.K.'s federal Department of Health. More
